Night Terrors II Now Available!

Blood Bound Books has just released their new Anthology, Night Terrors II, which features my latest short story, entitled "Origin Story".

Night Terrors II!

I recently found out that a story of mine, entitled "Origin Story", has been accepted for the Night Terrors II anthology from Blood Bound Books!

"Origin Story" deals with the world of comic books and social isolation, two topics that are near to my heart. There are also weird goings-on in a basement. Weird goings-on that may or may not involve cats. Okay, that's all I'm saying for now. You want more, get the book.

The Big Book of New Short Horror

Some great news came to my inbox this morning: my short story "Swallow" will be appearing in the Big Book of New Short Horror from Pill Hill Press!

Oscar Predictions

My wife and I don’t get out as much as we used to, but we do still make a point of seeing as many of the Oscar nominated films as we can. Here, then, are my predictions for the 2011 Academy Awards:

Best Picture: The King’s Speech
The King’s Speech is going to win in a lot of categories this year. Sure, it’s a great movie, but it has a lot of things that the Academy seems to favor in its picks: period drama, characters overcoming mental and physical adversity, overlooked history. Seems a shoe-in for this category, as well as many others.

Best Director: David Fincher

Time Enough at Last...Really?

The problem with broadcasting to the universe that you finally have enough time to do a thing is that, sooner or later, the universe will step in to fill that time with something else. Or, in my case, a string of something elses. One else after another, after another, after another. My new son Benjamin is, hands-down the best of those elses. And the worst of those elses are, I hope, finally behind me and my family. So, what better time than now to revisit this project, which turns one year old in less than two months?
