Downpour A Finalist for CWA Book of the Year
Downpour, the debut novel by Christopher Hawkins, has been honored as a finalist for the Chicago Writers Association Book of the Year Award.
The award recognizes excellence in writing from writers in the Chicago area. Winners will be chosen from entries in four categories: Traditional Fiction, Indie Fiction, Traditional Nonfiction, and Indie Nonfiction . Downpour was named a finalist in the Indie Fiction category.
This is the second time that a book by Hawkins was honored by the Chicago Writers association. His upcoming novel, I Contain Multitudes, won second place in the association’s First Chapter Contest in 2021.
Book of the Year winners will be announced in December and will be honored in a celebration at the Tip Top Tap at the Warwick Allerton Hotel, Chicago, IL on January 18, 2025.
