Fall News: an Interview, an Essay and New Stories Coming Soon

October has been an exciting month, with lots of news to share. Here’s a little look at what I’ve been up to.

The Third Coast Review reached out to me, along with an incredible roster of Chicago horror writers, to ask about our favorite horror stories. You can read here:

I also recently had the opportunity to post a short essay on the Horror Writers’ Association website. It’s a bite-sized reflection on how we think of the phrase Trick or Treat, and the power we have over monsters. I hope you’ll drop by and take a look:

Finally, two of my short stories that have been picked up for publication in 2021!

The first, "The Stumblybum Imperative", is a dark, slipstream novelette about parenthood, depression, and the dark secrets behind a popular kids' TV show. It’s slated to appear in Fusion Fragment in March.

The second, "Notice", is a fast-paced epistolary tale of madness and obsession that builds off of elements in Lovecraft's "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward". It will appear in the Lammas Eve (August) issue of Lovecraftiana.
